Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist with full mobility support using a ceiling track hoist
2. Prepare meals and assist with feeding; monitor intake
3. Administer medication, including controlled pain relief (training provided)
4. Manage a suprapubic catheter; support with bowel continence
5. Monitor emotional wellbeing – client may experience occasional suicidal ideation
6. Support with communication, allowing time and patience
7. Enable access to the community with the client’s partner or other carers
8. Work closely with the wider healthcare team as needs evolve
Client Overview:
9. Currently has full mental capacity but likely to decline due to MS
10. Generally in good spirits and communicative
11. Requires full physical support (wheelchair/bed bound)
12. Breathlessness at times – CPAP or cough assist may be introduced
13. No current skin integrity issues
14. PEG feeding under discussion for future needs
Who We’re Looking For:
15. Female carers only (as per client preference – Equality Act compliant)
16. Experience with complex care preferred: hoisting, catheter care, medication
17. Calm, compassionate, and emotionally aware
18. Reliable and confident working days or nights in a small, consistent team
19. Willing to undertake additional training as condition progresses
