Overview
This Clinical Oncology Consultant post will be based at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW) with sessions at South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust (SWUFT). The appointee will work with site-specific local and specialist MDTs for Breast cancer at UHCW and SWUFT. The typical new patient caseload is around 5 per week, and up to 210 per annum based on 42 working weeks of routine work (excluding leave and on-call). The role is part replacement and succession planning for the breast team due to retirement and cross-cover at SWUFT. The appointee will contribute to the On Call rota (currently 1 in 18). The role is supported by a dedicated CNS team and you will be expected to support the Acute Oncology Service and the Oncology ward in-patient care as necessary on working days. Patients will be treated in Arden Cancer Centre (UH site), Maple unit at St Cross Hospital Rugby, Rigby Unit at Stratford and Aylesford Unit at SWUFT.
Responsibilities
* Work with site-specific local and specialist MDTs for Breast cancer at UHCW and SWUFT.
* Manage a clinical caseload in line with the department’s 10 PA job plan (approximately 5 new patients per week, up to 210 per annum).
* Provide inpatient and outpatient oncology care and participate in the Acute Oncology Service as required.
* Contribute to the On Call rota (currently 1 in 18).
* Collaborate with the dedicated CNS team and participate in multi-disciplinary team discussions and care planning.

Patients will be treated at Arden Cancer Centre (UH site), Maple unit at St Cross Hospital Rugby, Rigby Unit at Stratford, and Aylesford Unit at SWUFT.
