The role
Lead work to implement the Risk Management Framework, identifying, reporting and escalating risk to Executive teams. Build positive relationships with business leaders and oversee operational risk across UK regulated entities.
Responsibilities
* Lead work to support and challenge the management of operational risk.
* Provide advice and guidance on risk management to foster high‑achieving, well‑controlled business functions.
* Develop and promote operational elements of the RMF, including risk appetites, emerging risks and incident capture and analysis.
* Support business teams in consistently applying the RMF to identify, assess, manage, monitor and report all material risks using appropriate tools.
* Support, challenge and oversee the end‑to‑end Incident process, ensuring all risk exposure, root cause and control gaps and remediation is identified.
* Support the Head of Operational Risk – Business Partnering in the development, execution and oversight of the Operational Risk Framework.
* Support the effective operation of technical and risk committees.
* Deliver regular operational risk reporting information across the insurance businesses to support effective decision‑making by senior executives and risk committees.
Key Skills / Qualifications
* Functional knowledge of risk, control and regulation.
* Experience of designing and implementing governance frameworks, providing oversight and improving control environments.
* Able to manage complex data and information and deliver operationally.
* Ability to analyse complex information to identify the key issue/action and drive resolution.
* Demonstrate excellent stakeholder management.
* Experience of managing operational risk (1st, 2nd or 3rd line) in an insurance business.
* Knowledge of best practice operational risk management and governance frameworks, methodologies, and emerging practice.
* Experience of the UK domestic and international regulatory environment and key regulatory regimes.
