I am currently partnering with an energy business who are committed to driving value, quality, and continuous improvement across their operations. Their Central Procurement team plays a critical role in ensuring that the organisation maximises value from third-party relationships while operating within robust governance frameworks. They pride themselves on strong collaboration, high standards, and the ability to deliver meaningful commercial outcomes for the business.
They are now seeking a motivated Junior Procurement Officer to join their team on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career procurement professional to broaden their experience in a fast-paced and supportive environment.
Role & Responsibilities
* Supporting the Procurement team in sourcing and procuring a wide range of goods and services, ensuring value for money and adherence to quality and service criteria
* Following procurement processes to seek and evaluate tenders, negotiate commercial terms, and manage supplier relationships to optimise value versus risk
* Identifying opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and continuous enhancement across the Procurement function
* Managing supplier relationships and term contracts, ensuring collaboration and consistency across stakeholder groups
* Supporting supplier performance management, dispute resolution, improvement actions, and compliance with departmental standards and policies
* Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, promoting Procurement as a positive and proactive partner to the business
* Operating procurement systems and tools to support efficient procurement activity
* Working with HSEQ teams to ensure a safe, compliant, and high-performing supply chain
* Undertaking additional procurement or supply chain tasks as required
Experience & Requirements
* Some procurement or supply chain experience in a comparable role
* Awareness of e-tendering systems and experience using IFS or a similar ERP system
* Basic understanding of the procurement lifecycle, negotiation principles, and contract delivery (essential)
* Understanding of procurement principles, general/contract law, and relevant legislation (desirable)
