Join to apply for the Income Officer – Customer Accounts role at City of York Council.
Be part of our Customer Accounts Team (Accounts Receivable). Responsible for collecting income for all Council Departments (not including CTAX and Business Rates) for services delivered. Issuing a high volume of invoices daily, and carrying out daily reporting checks to ensure correct allocation of incoming payments.
Responsibilities
* Referring overdue accounts to external Enforcement agents or referring cases to Legal Services for recovery action at County Court.
* Assisting Customers setting up repayment plans. Identifying customers struggling to pay invoices and referring them for Benefits Checks, and debt advice.
* Raising Credit notes as requested by other council departments. Issuing customer refunds for overpaid accounts.
* You will also assist in managing the Council’s Deferred Payment Scheme in respect of Nursing and Residential Care fees. You will be responsible for arranging property valuations, calculating customer eligibility to the scheme, and submitting paperwork to our legal department to facilitate the completion of this process.

Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
