Shifts: Monday - Thursday 08.00 – 5pm/ Friday – 08.00am – 2.30pm

Established in 1973, our client has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality engineering solutions and is now looking for an experienced and motivated Operations Manager / Operations Cell Manager to join their growing team.

The Opportunity
As Operations Manager / Operations Cell Manager, you will take ownership of a key operational area, leading a skilled team to ensure products are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
You’ll play a central role in developing team capability, improving operational performance, and fostering a positive, safety-first culture across the business.
This role would suit someone with strong leadership experience within engineering or manufacturing who enjoys problem-solving, process improvement, and developing high-performing teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and promote a strong health & safety culture across your operational area
* Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and operational procedures, including PUWER - Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations and LOLER - Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations
* Drive operational performance, ensuring on-time delivery and exceptional product quality
* Lead daily production meetings, manage workflow, and coordinate team activities
* Develop and mentor team members, ensuring training and competency requirements are met
* Work collaboratively with Purchasing and other departments to maintain production flow and material availability
* Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, quality, and cost reduction
* Manage employee performance, attendance, and conduct in line with company policies
* Build strong working relationships across the wider business to support operational success
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
* Previous experience within engineering or manufacturing
* Proven experience leading teams in a fast-paced production environment
* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
* Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
* Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
* Structured problem-solving experience (8D or similar methodologies)
* High attention to detail and a proactive mindset
Desirable
* Lean / Process Excellence qualification (Green Belt or Black Belt)
* Experience within the Rail or HVAC sectors
* Full UK driving licence
