Job Overview

Our Bleasdale Avenue service supports one client 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We require an enthusiastic, caring individual to take this gentleman out to the cinema, pub, shopping, and to the community. We have a variety of shifts including days, nights, and sleepovers. If you enjoy bus rides, walks, and pub meals, this rewarding job could be for you.

As a Support Worker, you will provide high-quality care and support to enable our client to live their best life. You will be passionate about making a difference, helping him fulfill his aspirations. The service is located in Knottingley, and a valid manual UK driving license is essential for driving the client’s vehicle.

St Anne’s Community Services is one of the largest and most respected charities in the North of England, supporting nearly 2,000 vulnerable adults through residential, supported living, and outreach services. Main duties of the job

* Develop and review person-centred support plans reflecting the client’s wishes and needs.
* Support the client to live independently, supporting social visits, hobbies, and skill development.
* Communicate openly and transparently with the client and team members.
* Assist with personal care and domestic tasks, respecting the client’s dignity and choices.
* Maintain accurate records, including daily notes and medication records.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities

As a Support Worker, you will:

* Ensure care is provided respectfully, protecting clients from abuse and maintaining dignity.
* Support clients’ individual needs, with no two days being the same.
* Assist with quality inspections and adhere to health and safety policies.
* Perform household duties like cooking, cleaning, and laundry as needed.
* Provide personal care in accordance with care plans, respecting client choices.
* Keep accurate written and numerical records.
* Undertake physical tasks such as climbing stairs, using hoists, and assisting with mobility.
* Be willing to learn to use computer packages and undertake relevant training.
* Work cooperatively as part of a team and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Person Specification

Experience

* Essential: Previous experience in care or caring at home.

Qualifications

* Care Certificate or willingness to undertake it.
* UK manual driver’s license.
