Industrial Operative/Hygiene Operative
Industrial Cleaner - Food Warehouse Distribution Centre
As a hygiene Operative /Industrial Cleaner you are to maintain the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness within the food warehouse distribution centre at the end of the supply chain. As a hygiene operative you will have a good knowledge of food colour certificates and demonstrate a strong working knowledge of food safety standards, ensuring full compliance with all regulatory and company requirements.
Hygiene Operative /Industrial Cleaner is critical to protecting food integrity, preventing contamination, and supporting audit readiness at all times.
The Role:
* Perform industrial cleaning and sanitation of warehouse areas, including:
o Storage zones
o Dispatch and loading bays
o Floors, walls, drains, racking, and equipment
* Follow food-grade cleaning procedures in accordance with HACCP, BRC, SALSA, or equivalent food safety standards
* Correctly use colour-coded cleaning equipment in line with food colour certification requirements
* Safely handle and use approved industrial and food-safe cleaning chemicals
* Prevent cross-contamination by adhering strictly to zoning and hygiene controls
* Complete cleaning schedules, checklists, and required documentation accurately
* Support internal and external food safety audits
* Identify and report hygiene risks, damage, pest activity, or non-compliance issues
* Comply with all health & safety, COSHH, and PPE requirements
* Work collaboratively with warehouse and quality teams to maintain hygiene standards
Hours of Work
* Shift pattern: 06:00-18:00 or 18:00-06:00
* 4 on / 4 off rotation
* Weekend work required
* Day and night shifts available
* Opportunity to take on additional shifts
Pay Rates
* £12:50 per hour - Days (flat rate)
