Key Details:
Location: On-site in Glasgow
Security Clearance: Must be SC clearable
Experience Level: 5+ years' experience in embedded software testing
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and execute
software test cases
to verify embedded system requirements, ensuring full test coverage.
* Set up and manage
test environments
for
hardware and software integration
, supporting complex system validation.
* Plan and conduct
software test campaigns
, integrating real hardware with simulation and emulation tools.
* Develop and maintain
test documentation
, including
test plans, reports, compliance records, and fault logs
.
* Perform
manual and automated testing
in
Linux and Windows
environments, ensuring software reliability.
* Investigate and report defects, providing clear
reproduction steps and root cause analysis
to engineering teams.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
* 5+ years' experience in
software test engineering
, ideally within
defence
,
aerospace
, or other
safety-critical systems
* Strong understanding of
black-box
and
white-box
testing methodologies
* Proficient in working with
real-time embedded systems
and
software/hardware version control
tools
* Skilled in
test case generation
,
metrics tracking
, and
compliance verification
* Experience using
DOORS
for
requirements management
and
test traceability
* Familiarity with
test automation frameworks
and
CI/CD pipelines
Required Qualifications:
* Must be eligible for
UK Security Clearance (SC)
* A
Bachelor's or Master's degree
in a relevant engineering or computing field OR
* Equivalent applied experience from a
UK Armed Forces technical background
Desirable Skills:
* Knowledge of
IEC-61508
or
DO-178C
standards for
safety-critical software testing
* Experience with
automated test scripting
and working within
Agile
or
Waterfall
methodologies
* Background in
software development
, particularly with
