The Role The Verdancy Group is building a UK-wide network of talented associate trainers and assessors to support the delivery of retrofit, low carbon construction, and energy efficiency programmes. If you’re a qualified professional with technical know-how and a passion for teaching or assessing others, we’d love to hear from you. We welcome experts from all relevant trades and disciplines, including but not limited to: insulation and airtightness installation, carpentry and joinery, heat pump installation, ventilation and MVHR systems, building fabric repair, airtightness testing, renewable energy systems, fenestration and glazing, domestic and non-domestic energy assessment, retrofit coordination and advice, Passive House construction techniques, thermal bridging mitigation, building services engineering, roofing and cladding, and other skills essential to sustainable building performance. This role could be a great fit if you: Still run your own business but want to pass on your skills to others Are actively working in the trade and want to support the next generation Are starting to think about what comes next and want to ease into a new professional direction Have a genuine interest in training, assessing, or mentoring others in your field Want flexible, project-based work that fits around other commitments We’re particularly keen to hear from people with experience in: Delivering or assessing vocational qualifications (e.g. NVQs, EWPA, SCQF, NOCN) Retrofit roles under PAS 2035 (Coordinator, Assessor, Designer) Fabric-first measures, including internal/external wall insulation and airtightness Low-carbon heating and ventilation systems Energy efficiency and renewables (e.g. solar PV, heat pumps) Working with learners across trades, age groups, and experience levels You’ll Need: A recognised teaching or assessor qualification (e.g. A1, L&D9DI, PTLLS or equivalent) – or a willingness to work towards it Industry competence in your area of delivery A commitment to learner success and quality delivery Flexibility to support remote, hybrid, or in-person programmes depending on need What We Offer: Flexible freelance/associate opportunities across the UK Competitive daily rates and project-based work Professional support, induction, and quality assurance guidance A chance to be part of a growing, mission-led organisation shaping the UK’s green skills landscape How to Join the Register If you're interested in becoming part of our associate pool, please send your CV and a short summary of your areas of expertise via the apply button below.
