As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'll support the commercial delivery of high‑end residential projects while developing your career in quantity surveying. You'll work closely with senior colleagues, gaining practical experience across every stage of the process and building the foundation for long‑term growth in your career.
Responsibilities
* Play an active role in preparing subcontractor and material enquiries, building relationships, and supporting a smooth procurement process.
* Assist in assembling subcontract orders, ensuring every document, insurance, and package detail is in place to keep projects moving seamlessly.
* Support the management of subcontractor accounts, gaining hands‑on experience with remeasurement, tracking variations, and monitoring provisional sums.
* Take ownership of recording and pricing project variations, sharpening commercial skills while supporting accurate and reliable final accounts.
* Review subcontractor applications for payment, preparing timely payment notices and strengthening financial control across projects.
* Contribute to valuations, cost analysis, and reporting, collaborating closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor to develop expertise and progress your career.
Minimum Requirements
* Working towards a Degree in Quantity Surveying or an HNC in construction.
* Knowledge of residential contracting.
* Awareness of property taxation and contractual law.
* Understanding of modern and traditional building methods.
* Strong numeracy and financial management skills.
* Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel.
* Ability to adapt quickly to construction management IT packages.
