My client is passionate about inertial navigation and how they can empower their customers to explore further with a mission to navigate anywhere and innovate everywhere.
With over two decades of experience in fusing the best of high precision GNSS receivers and world-class inertial navigation systems, their products have become the industry standard. Year on year they’re expanding and improving their market solutions through the addition of new sensors, software and fusion techniques that delight their customers and push their technology into new spaces; they don’t stay still.
Privately owned and employing around 100 people, the business has a strong order pipeline and ambitious plans to double in size over the next five years. Several non-executive board members are also founder-shareholders, reflecting a deep-rooted commitment to the company’s long-term success.
They are seeking a Chairman to lead the Board through this exciting growth phase. This pivotal role involves:
* Chairing Board and shareholder meetings, ensuring effective governance and strategic alignment.
* Supporting Board development and succession planning in line with the company’s expansion.
* Acting as line manager to the CEO and non-executive directors.
* Leading the Remuneration Committee with transparency and accountability.
* Overseeing governance and maintaining strong shareholder relations.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role requiring a proactive and engaged leader. The ideal candidate will:
* Currently serve as Chair of a high-tech business, ideally in the electronics sector.
* Have a proven track record of steering companies through significant growth.
* Be comfortable using MS Office tools for communication and documentation.
* Be based within easy reach of North Oxfordshire, given the time commitment and need for regular in-person engagement.
