Job Title: Children's Support Worker
Location: Harrogate, North Yorkshire
Job Type: Full-time/Permanent, 37 hours per week
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to the needs of each child.
* Provide emotional and social support to children, fostering a safe and nurturing environment.
* Assist with daily routines, including meal times, homework, and recreational activities.
* Monitor and report on the progress and well-being of children, maintaining accurate records.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, educators, and healthcare providers.
* Facilitate educational and recreational activities that promote development and well-being.
* Support children in developing life skills, such as communication, problem-solving, and self-care.
* Advocate for the rights and needs of children, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
* Manage challenging behaviours with empathy and professionalism, using appropriate intervention strategies.
* Engage with families and caregivers, providing guidance and support to strengthen family relationships.
* Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in childcare and support.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a similar role working with children and young people.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting children.
* Knowledge of safeguarding practices and procedures.
