Overview
We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Band 4 Therapy Assistant to work within the Stroke Therapy Team at University Hospitals Dorset.
We are looking for a motivated and compassionate individual to join our Stroke Therapy team. You will work closely with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech and Language Therapists to support the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of people following stroke.
Responsibilities
* Work alongside therapists in assessing and rehabilitating stroke patients.
* Coordinate and organise therapy groups.
* Support qualified therapists in discharge processes such as access visits.
* Carry out administrative responsibilities to support the qualified therapists.
Qualifications
* Previous experience of working with stroke patients in an acute hospital or community setting is essential.
* Foundation Degree in health or an equivalent assistant practitioner qualification.
* Car driver with a full driving licence and access to own car (required for home assessments).
* Ability to participate in 7‑day working and weekend rotas.
* Competency level expected – training and support will be provided.
