Digital Project Manager (12 month FTC)
£49,282.00 - £53,460.00 per annum
Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) is seeking a Digital Project Manager on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract basis.
This role will be responsible for managing complex ICT and transformational projects, working extensively with colleagues across departments and with external organisations and suppliers. The post will be part of an award‑winning digital service that is enabling GM Fire & Rescue to be one of the best performing services in the country and supporting the reform of public services across Greater Manchester in line with the Greater Manchester Strategy.
The post holder will take direct responsibility for the successful delivery of all project elements, ensuring deadlines, budgets and quality standards are met. The role requires significant autonomy, with escalation to the Senior Project Manager where necessary.
* Define the scope of projects and initiatives
* Ensure deadlines are understood and adhered to
* Ensure objectives are clearly articulated and understood
* Apply appropriate project management methodologies
* Develop and maintain effective relationships with senior officers
* Produce project documents as appropriate
* Develop and manage project risk and issue logs – monitoring, updating and reporting progress against these
* Motivate and develop team members, leading by example and identify and agree training and development needs as required
The Digital Services team manages and supports the Greater Manchester Combined Authority’s ICT architecture, leading the Digital, Data and Technology function and strategy for GMCA. It sets and enforces standards for digital services, including data security considerations, provides guidance and advice for consistent, coherent, high‑quality digital services, and supports North West Fire Control and other partners.
About you
* Expertise in delivering complex Digital transformation projects
* Comfortable working within structured project management methodologies including Waterfall and Agile
* Well‑developed communication skills to influence and offer persuasive arguments with both internal and external stakeholders
* Proven ability to motivate project teams to successful outcomes
* Excellent report‑writing and presentation skills
* At least a degree level education
* Personal commitment to continuous self‑development and service improvement
