The faculty of Future Technologies and Design is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Construction Lecturer to join our academic team. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality learning, teaching and assessment to learners across NPA, HNC Construction programmes, including apprentices, with a particular emphasis on joinery and associated construction skills.
As an academic member of staff, you will contribute to excellence in learning by preparing and delivering engaging, industry-relevant teaching materials, assessing learner progress, and providing effective academic and pastoral support. You will play an active role in supporting learner achievement, progression, and positive destinations.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Strong vocational expertise in joinery and/or related construction disciplines
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse learner groups, including apprentices
The ability to work effectively on their own initiative and as part of a team
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
A flexible, positive, and solution-focused approach to work
An awareness of new and existing digital packages such as BIM and CAD
Essential requirements:
A qualification at SCQF Level 7 essential (Level 8 Desirable) in a relevant construction discipline, or a recognised professional equivalent, or significant and demonstrable industry experience in the specialist area
A commitment to high standards of learning, teaching, and assessment
A willingness to engage in continuous professional development and contribute to curriculum development
Teaching or assessor qualifications, and experience of delivering within the FE sector, would be advantageous, but applications are welcomed from strong industry professionals with a genuine interest in developing the next generation of construction trades.

Salary: £41,833 - £50,359 per annum
Location: Cardonald Campus. You may be required to travel and work within all Glasgow Clyde campuses.
