Responsibilities
* The post holder will work within a multi-professional team, providing specialist services to adults with a learning disability who may have additional mental health needs and a history of offending behaviour.
* The post holder will work under the direction of the Forensic Team Leader and Management Team, assume a lead role in the provision of all aspects of physical, procedural and relational security.
* The post holder will have responsibilities for developing and maintaining high quality patient care and a safe and secure environment within a forensic medium and low secure setting.
* Under the direction of the Clinical Team Leader, take a lead role in the security risk assessment and management in all aspects of patient interventions.
* To actively contribute to the management and development of staff within the clinical setting, this includes the identification of training needs and the provision of ongoing supervision to junior staff.
* To work flexibly within all clinical areas, undertaking delegated managerial responsibilities.
* To ensure security and safety arrangements are robust across the Warren Court and are in line with policy and procedure.
* To maintain an effective communication system across the clinic ensuring staff awareness of local and national policies and procedures and guidance.
* The post holder is required to ensure that the maintenance and monitoring procedures are implemented for the physical security components of the service.
* To contribute to the development, review and dissemination of security procedures.
* To co‑ordinate and chair regular security meetings.
* To participate in regular staff meetings.
* To maintain, as appropriate, management recording systems to include staff records and administration of statutory data within Trust requirements.
* To ensure the safe custody of service users’ money and property.
* To provide specialist knowledge within a forensic service, acting as a role‑model for all staff within the unit and, in conjunction with the Multi‑Disciplinary Team, to participate in the Warren Court induction procedure for all new staff arriving within the service.
* To plan, deliver and evaluate mandatory security training for all staff.
