Description Service Support Technician | 9104 | Permeant Contract | 37 hours per week and On-call Rota | £26,403 - £28,142 per annum | Scale E | Hethersett To provide first-line maintenance of operational safety critical equipment, in accordance with LOLER, PUWER and other safety legislative and regulatory requirements. Routine premise management and logistics, to ensure that workplace health and safety is maintained, and to ensure that essential resources and other consumables are available in the right place and at the right time for use by operational crews. The role also includes supporting business continuity for NFRS business delivery. The role supports the maintenance and delivery of critical firefighting and life safety equipment, within NFRS, ensuring that operational crews have the necessary safety critical equipment available to facilitate emergency response and protect the public. The post holder will be required to use their specialist knowledge, experience and understanding of NFRS, manufacturer and legislative guidance, to make autonomous decisions about whether to remove, replace or limit the use of safety critical equipment, to protect the safety of fire fighters and the public. The post holder will be required to 24/7 Standby cover out of normal working hours on a rota system The core focus of the role will be to enable successful and efficient day to day functioning of the Critical equipment department, and wider service. Working as part of team, this will entail a variety of different duties, all of which contributes to ensuring the correct equipment is in the right place at the right time. Some items of equipment will also require maintenance and testing, for which training will be provided. The role will require management of stock levels, ordering of equipment and operational consumables, and receipting invoices on completion of delivery. The role also supports the inventory of all frontline firefighting appliances and vehicles, to ensure all equipment is maintained and in full working order. The role operates standard working hours of Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:00, along side this there will be a requirement to participate in On-call rota. This is made up of two technicians providing county wide cover for a period of 14 days at 24/7 followed by 14 days of standard working hours.
