A hard-working, honest, dependable, self-motivated person to act as the Elleray Centre Caretaker.
Duties will cover:
* Set up and pack down of each room according to bookings diary. Including but not limited to set up of chairs, tables, sound system, projectors, TV's and so on.
* Undertaking spot cleaning and upkeep of the building including but not limited to, vacuuming, cleaning toilets, mopping floors, shampooing carpets and cleaning glass.
* Ensure that activity leads and room hires put out waste / bins in preparation for pick-up.
* Ensuring that external rubbish is stored appropriately and arrange disposal.
* Sweep car park, pick up litter and be responsible for the removal of all debris from paths, grassed areas, flowerbeds and all entrances/exits.
* General maintenance and minor repair work including: doors, windows, toilet seats and flushes, furniture, tap washers and some painting of doors and walls.
* General porter duties and moving of furniture.
* Keep supplies stocked and records updated.
* Refill consumable items like soap and toilet paper.
* Follow Company Policies & Procedures including our Equal Opportunities, Safeguarding, Health and Safety and Confidentiality policies and procedures.
* Assist Centre Manager with simple tasks as requested.
* Checking damage/security at the start of every shift and on arrival at the premises.
* Report safety concerns and follow safety regulations.
* Receive and check goods and supplies and take them to the appropriate place for storage. (Cleaning products etc).
* Ensure that clear passage is maintained on fire escape routes.
* Understand and implement fire safety regulations, Health and Safety regulations, emergency procedures and the rules for evacuating the building.
* Complete relevant training courses and certificates as requested by the Centre Manager.
Security
* Know the fire evacuation procedure.
* Opening and closing, unlocking and locking of the building.
* Overall security of the premises including the locking of all windows and doors.
* Manage visitor access, support ECA staff with ensuring a safe and inviting environments for all users of the centre
Management
* Assist with enquiries and guide visitors and contractors in a polite and professional manner.
* Assist activity leads and users to monitor the noise level of their activity in line with the Noise Management Plan
* Noting, monitoring and reporting any defects in the building to the Centre Manager.
* Occasionally monitor the work of contractors working on site.
* Ensure that the plant room and all storage rooms and cupboards are tidy.
Successful applicants will be expected to complete a DBS check.
Pay: £13.50 per hour
