Job description
We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Contracts Supervisor (Mechanical). This is a permanent position 37 hours per week
Your workstyle in this role will be a frontline/community-based worker.
Our Building Services department is responsible for maintaining and improving the councils mechanical and electrical assets across the estate. We manage statutory compliance programmes such as boiler servicing, fire alarms, emergency lighting, CCTV, roller shutters, and wider mechanical/electrical maintenance. The team works across schools, civic buildings, and community facilities, ensuring everything is safe, functional, and fully compliant.

As a Contracts Supervisor (Mechanical), your duties will include Supervising and monitoring contracts to ensure groups and individuals are properly deployed and productive, managing any Sub-Contractors and maintaining a healthy, safe and productive working environment, including an awareness of health and safety amongst all employees and ensuring compliance with corporate and departmental policies, procedures and codes of practice, including The Health & Safety at Work Act & CDM Regulations.
Your daily routine You will be required to assist in the provision of a cost-effective Service which exceeds expectation in accordance with Financial Regulations and Standing Orders, liaising with Other Departments, Architects; Engineers and Supervisors regarding all aspects of the building services function.
Do you have experience.
Working within the Building Construction Industry.
Understanding of the work and customer expectations with respect to Building Services.
Previous maintenance experience.
Ideally the post requires an appropriate Building Qualification Mechanical/Electrical /Building trade qualification.
