Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical Bias) Location: Dudley, West Midlands Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 (including shift allowance) Shift Pattern: Rotating 2 Shift Pattern (6:00am – 2:00pm / 2:00pm – 10:00pm) Overtime Available Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent The Opportunity We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical Bias) on behalf of a well-established steel processing company based in Dudley. You will work as part of a two-person engineering team on shift, maintaining and improving plant performance while minimising downtime. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across plant machinery Respond to breakdowns and ensure minimal disruption to production Diagnose and repair faults in line with your bias (mechanical or electrical) Complete maintenance records and shift reports Work safely in line with health & safety procedures Collaborate with production and engineering teams Key Duties (Depending on Bias) Mechanical Maintenance of hydraulic and pneumatic systems Welding, fabrication, and mechanical repairs Oxy-acetylene burning Bench fitting and general mechanical work ⚡ Electrical Fault finding on motors, sensors, switches, and control systems Basic electrical maintenance and repairs Support electrical fault diagnosis alongside mechanical work General Operation of forklifts, cherry pickers, and overhead cranes (OHC) Candidate Requirements NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) Time-served apprenticeship (preferred) Experience within heavy industry or manufacturing Strong fault-finding skills within your core discipline Ability to work effectively within a small team Salary & Benefits £40,000 – £50,000 (including shift allowance) Overtime available 33 days holiday (including shutdowns) Company pension scheme Death in Service benefit Healthcare cash plan (after qualifying period) Why Apply?
