An engineering and manufacturing company specialising in advanced security detection and inspection equipment are looking for a Buyer to join them on a 12-month contract in Redhill.
Managing and liaising with current suppliers, being responsible for placing orders and managing processes. Supporting the operational supply chain using an MRP system.
Responsibilities
* Place and manage purchase orders with precision and timeliness.
* Attend procurement and cross-functional meetings at our Crawley manufacturing site.
* Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
* Support cost reduction initiatives and benchmark supply chain competitiveness.
* Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Engineering teams on NPI projects.
* Assist the Senior Buyer with negotiations and strategic sourcing.
* Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
* Ensure compliance with ISO standards through process documentation.
* Resolve supplier invoice queries and manage demand requests.
* Ensure suppliers consistently meet cost, quality, and delivery targets (Total Cost of Ownership).
Qualifications
* Minimum 3 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
* Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).
* Office-based availability with some flexibility.
