Job Title: Private Household Japanese Chef

Overview
A private family of four based in Belgravia is seeking a skilled and experienced Japanese Chef to join their household team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing authentic, high-quality Japanese cuisine for the family while working alongside two existing household chefs who specialise in Indian cuisine.
This is an excellent opportunity for a chef with strong experience in traditional Japanese cooking who enjoys working in a private household environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare fresh, high-quality Japanese meals for a family of four on a daily basis
2. Design and plan seasonal menus featuring a variety of Japanese dishes
3. Prepare sushi, sashimi, teppanyaki, and other traditional Japanese cuisine
4. Work collaboratively with two existing household chefs specialising in Indian cuisine
5. Maintain the highest standards of kitchen hygiene, organisation, and food safety
6. Source premium ingredients and manage relevant kitchen inventory
7. Adapt menus and meals to the family’s preferences and dietary requirements
8. Cook for occasional family events or small gatherings
Kitchen Setup
9. A dedicated teppanyaki grill will be installed in the household kitchen, allowing the chef to prepare teppanyaki-style meals for the family and guests.
Schedule
10. 5 working days per week (flexible days depending on family schedule)
11. Flexibility required for occasional evening meals and special occasions
Travel
12. The chef may be required to travel with the family to Europe on occasion.
Candidate Requirements
13. Proven experience as a Japanese chef (private household, fine dining, or luxury hospitality preferred)
14. Strong expertise in sushi, sashimi, and traditional Japanese cooking techniques
15. Teppanyaki experience preferred (or willingness to work with a new teppanyaki grill installation)
16. Professional, discreet, and accustomed to working in private households
17. Fluent or good working level of English
18. Organised, flexible, and able to work as part of a team
