As Management Accountant-Milk Supply, you will be the Team Lead to ensure farmer payments, trading activity and overheads are recorded correctly within SAP and month end processes and analysis are completed properly. You will provide support to the Financial Controller on forecasting and budgeting process. You will drive improvements in processes and controls and manage a team of four. The role is located at Market Drayton, Western Way with a hybrid’ working model-3 days per week on site. Your challenge for the Management Accountant-Milk Supply: - Responsible for the Milk Supply P&L and Balance sheet in SAP - to include maintaining the integrity of data into SAP, challenging results and anomalies with the rest of the team when required. Ensuring accurate and timely financial data and supporting information to enable review of monthly reporting and future outlook (budgets, quarterly forecasting and mid month forecasts); this will include management of the month end process for farmer payments, trading activity and overheads, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately by the team and month end analysis complete. Review the monthly farmer payment and the reporting to the business for approval. Detailed monitoring of all actual cost movements against forecasted ppl to fully understand all movements (e.g. base, butterfat, profile, hygiene related). Support the Financial Controller in maintaining overall financial control and managing the risks within the Milk Supply area. Ensure the balance sheet reconciliation is completed in accordance with Group timetable and all variances fully investigated and explained. Introduce appropriate checks to ensure accurate reporting. Responsible for accuracy of financial data within systems. Become the SAP 'go to' person for the Milk Supply team. Preparation of monthly reporting for the Milk Supply area in accordance with Group timetable, including: Review accruals prepared by the team to ensure accurately reflect the true cost in each month. Prepare variance analysis of actuals vs forecast/budget clearly explaining any major variance. Preparation of weekly reporting for the Milk Supply area in accordance with Group timetable. Support the budget and forecasting process and influence assumptions. Seek to identify improvements in the month end process and weekly reporting with the aim to improve accuracy and/or efficiency & to identify improvements in the farmer payment process by working with the Farmer payment Assistant Accountant and Farm Services Team. Simplify the milk creditor balance sheet reconciliation spreadsheet/process further. Develop effective cross functional working relationships at all levels within the business e.g. sites, Group Finance, Inbound Logistics team. Support the Head of Milk Supply and Ingredients to ensure a high service provided to the farmers and with analysis for the business. Support the Financial Controller in business partnering the Milk Supply Director and Commercial Director-Ingredients and Agriculture team. Cover for others in the Milk Supply Controlling team. Support the Financial Controller in ad-hoc projects, acting as backup in times of absence. Lead system development projects and accuracy of information maintained in the system. Manage 4 direct reports-coach, lead and support. Key skills & experience for the Management Accountant-Milk Supply:- Qualified CIMA/ACCA. Experience of providing detailed and high-level variance analysis. Strong leadership skills. Previous experience of managing a team. Experience in the dairy industry would be beneficial. Strong IT & Systems knowledge and experience, including Excel. SAP experience preferred. Detailed orientated and able to self-review complex data. Process and analytical orientated. Good communication skills. Ability to visualise the whole picture and understand the importance of their role both within the department and also within the whole company. Knowledge of journal postings, balance sheet reconciliations and month end accruals.
