Job Description
* Conduct thorough property inspections in line with Section 11 (Landlord and Tenant Act 1985) and Section 82 (Environmental Protection Act 1990) to assess the validity and extent of disrepair claims.
* Prepare detailed, evidence-based survey reports, including photographic records, and ensure accurate documentation is maintained throughout each case.
* Develop and recommend cost-effective remedial actions, ensuring compliance with current housing legislation and landlord obligations.
* Collaborate with legal teams to support disrepair case management, including the preparation of CPR Part 35-compliant expert witness reports when required.
* Liaise with contractors to scope, specify, and monitor repairs, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
* Provide clear, technical advice to tenants, internal teams, and external stakeholders regarding disrepair issues and property condition.
* Oversee the progress of remedial works, ensuring health and safety compliance and effective resolution of issues raised.
* Play a key role in maintaining high housing standards across the portfolio, contributing to organisational goals and tenant satisfaction.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Disrepair Surveyor should have:
* Relevant qualifications in surveying, construction, or property management.
* Experience conducting property inspections and producing detailed reports.
* Strong knowledge of housing regulations and building standards.
* Proficiency in managing repair projects from start to finish.
* Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* Confidence in working with contractors and other stakeholders.
