The hourly rate for this role is £12.36 and up to £13.53 across selected locations within London and will involve travelling to stores around the region up to 60 minutes. Travel expenses are covered by Boots.
A full driving licence and access to a car will be necessary in this role due to the travelling. Only Phlebotomists with at least 12 months practical experience will be considered.

Our Future Health is a Charity working in partnership with the NHS, aiming to be the UK’s largest health research programme, bringing people together to develop new ways to prevent, detect, and treat diseases. The programme will collect information from millions of volunteers across the UK to help people live healthier lives for longer, transforming the prevention, detection, and treatment of conditions such as dementia, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and stroke.
Your role as a Phlebotomist will be to greet volunteers, verify their details, and take health measurements and venous blood samples (phlebotomy) while maintaining the integrity of all participant information and blood samples.
Your main duties will include:
1. Greeting participants and verifying their details
2. Explaining the phlebotomy procedure to participants
3. Managing appointment bookings for the phlebotomy service
4. Taking measurements such as height, weight, and waist circumference
5. Taking and maintaining venous blood samples according to UK guidelines
6. Following Standard Operating Procedures and health and safety standards
7. Preparing samples for delivery to the laboratory within required timescales
8. Ordering and maintaining stock of necessary materials
9. Communicating with the Pharmacist and pharmacy team to ensure safe service provision
What you’ll need to have
* Previous experience as a Phlebotomist is desirable, but full training will be provided for applicants without experience
* Ability to work calmly under pressure
* Empathetic, approachable, and sensitive interaction skills
* Comfortable with technology and digital tools
* A passion for customer care and healthcare
* Ability to work as part of a busy team
* Willingness to complete Healthcare training at NVQ2 or equivalent
