to take the reins of key operational functions — ensuring safety, supporting our people, and improving systems that help the business thrive.

After 18 years of growth under a husband-and-wife team, we're now transitioning into a new chapter. With well-established systems and strong external support in place, we're offering a
6-month handover period
to ensure a smooth transition into this key leadership role.
About the Role
Reporting to the Managing Director and working closely with the senior leadership team, you'll oversee
Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental Compliance, HR, and Business Systems
.
You'll wear multiple hats — but you'll be fully supported and empowered to succeed. This is a strategic and operational role for someone who's not afraid to get stuck in.
Key Responsibilities
QHSE Management
* Maintain and develop QHSE policies and procedures
* Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation
* Conduct and review risk assessments, audits, and inspections
* Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions
* Oversee employee H&S training and certification tracking
* Manage the ISO 9001-compliant quality management system
Human Resources
* Support recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes
* Maintain accurate and compliant employee records
* Advise managers on performance, conduct, and employee relations
* Promote staff wellbeing and engagement initiatives
* Support training and development planning
Business Systems & Office Management
* Oversee IT systems, telecoms, and service contracts
* Ensure GDPR and data protection compliance
* Manage office and facilities maintenance, supplies, and equipment
* Coordinate with third-party service providers
* Continuously improve internal administrative systems and processes
What We're Looking For
Essential:
* Proven experience in QHSE and HR roles
* NEBOSH (or equivalent) Health & Safety qualification
* Working knowledge of ISO 9001
* Sound understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice
* Highly organised, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Practical, solutions-focused, and able to manage multiple responsibilities
Desirable:
* Experience in a multi-site or hybrid working environment (office, warehouse, remote teams)
* First Aid or Mental Health First Aid qualification
* Familiarity with GDPR and IT/business systems administration
