This role is based on Disney's private island in the Bahamas.
As a Maintenance Technician – Mechanic, your responsibilities will include performing maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment. You will operate various tools and machinery, interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and work orders to carry out maintenance activities. Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical assemblies, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems will also be part of your role.
You will report to the Assistant Manager – Island General Maintenance.
Your Responsibilities – How You Will Make a Difference
* Troubleshoot and perform maintenance on all mechanical equipment on the island
* Install and maintain industrial, residential, and commercial mechanical systems
* Ensure a safe work environment by complying with safety policies and procedures
* This position may require working from ladders, elevated platforms, and in confined spaces
* Provide support to other departments as needed
Basic Qualifications – What You Will Bring to the Team
* At least 3 years of vehicle mechanic experience, with supporting diploma or certification
* Knowledge of standard mechanic practices, tools, and materials
* Understanding of occupational hazards and safety precautions in mechanic work
* Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems, including gearboxes, bearings, mobile drive systems, and lubrication
* Ability to estimate time and material needs
