Overview
Indaver is a full waste management specialist that offers a comprehensive in-house solution for waste and recycling requirements, combined with bespoke fine chemicals manufacturing to provide a holistic end-to-end provision for hazardous waste, recycling and molecular development. At its site in Middlewich, Cheshire, UK, Indaver operates a solvent recycling facility accepting hazardous and non-hazardous waste solvents, providing bespoke recovery solutions and supporting customers with lab analysis, pilot-scale trials and recycling at a commercial scale. A highly skilled and experienced workforce, including chemical engineers, engineers, chemists and senior plant operators, supports customers with continuous investment and innovation to enhance existing facilities and new equipment to meet customer needs.
Function Overview The role is to provide engineering solutions, primarily through hands-on reactive maintenance and planned preventive maintenance schedules on the production plant and equipment. The candidate will work with sub-contractors and the operations team to execute other maintenance work according to engineering best practices, procedures and standards to ensure 100% compliance in all areas. Keeping accurate up-to-date records of equipment calibration and certification is a key part of this role.
Responsibilities
* Perform reactive maintenance and planned preventive maintenance on production plant and equipment.
* Coordinate with sub-contractors and the operations team to execute maintenance activities in line with engineering standards.
* Maintain accurate records of equipment calibration and certification.
* Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental policies.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives related to maintenance practices.
Qualifications
* Be prepared to work flexibly as required by Company and business needs.
* Solid background and experience in Mechanical Engineering within a heavy industrial environment, ideally HNC or NVQ Level 3 qualified.
* Welding and fabrication experience.
* Experienced bench fitting skills.
* Experience in working in a Lower Tier COMAH or Chemical manufacturing site.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to use initiative.
* Ability to work as part of a team and independently with minimum supervision.
* Demonstrates cooperation skills within the team and with other functions.
* Remains calm and focused under pressure with a positive and committed “can-do” attitude.
* Must be eligible to work full-time in the UK; visa sponsorship will not be offered for this position.
