A renowned public sector organisation based in the heart of Edinburgh are looking to appoint a Head of HR on an interim basis.
Your new role
They are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of HR to lead the Human Resources and Organisational Development (HR/OD) team. This pivotal role will provide expert guidance and leadership across all HR functions, supporting senior leaders, staff, and trade unions to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Key responsibilities within this role will include:
1. Lead and develop the HR/OD team, promoting continuous improvement and professional growth.
2. Advise senior leaders and staff on HR policies, employment law, and organisational change.
3. Drive organisational development and training initiatives to enhance performance and culture.
4. Lead employee relations, including consultation and negotiation with trade unions.
5. Champion Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) across the organisation.
6. Oversee HR data management, reporting, and risk mitigation.
7. Manage HR budgets and ensure effective delivery of occupational health and employee assistance services.
8. Represent the organisation at internal and external forums.
9. Develop and implement volunteering strategies and policies.
