The role:
The Senior Manager is responsible for leading and handling security operations to ensure the protection of critical systems, data, and infrastructure against cyber threats. This role involves overseeing a team of cybersecurity professionals, running incident detection and response, and ensuring that security controls are implemented and functioning effectively. The primary goal is to reduce the overall risk exposure by ensuring that potential threats are detected, mitigated, and remediated promptly.
The Senior Manager of Security Operations is responsible for ensuring we have the capability to respond effectively to the cyber threats targeting SJP. As the department lead, they are responsible for ensuring the alignment of both the engineering resources and incident response team in ensuring relevant technical capability is developed and maintained, that supports us optimally by identifying, preventing and responding to threats.
What you'll be doing:
* Lead the engineering team in managing and optimising security tools to support effective threat detection, prevention, and response.
* Supervise incident response, ensuring incidents are handled promptly and processes are continuously improved.
* Own and enhance the phishing detection and triage process to ensure rapid identification and mitigation of phishing threats.
* Develop and maintain policies and procedures for incident response and operational security processes.
* Lead and develop a high-performing team of engineers and analysts, ensuring alignment with business needs.
* Drive continuous improvement of security operations to adapt to the evolving threat landscape and SJP’s growing digital footprint.
Who we're looking for:

Essential Criteria
* Demonstrable experience in designing, enhancing, and implementing security processes and policies within a commercial environment.
* Experience of working in security teams, managing incident response, and optimising security tools and technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
* Hands-on experience in threat detection and prevention, including expertise in SIEM, EDR, firewall management, or similar security technologies.
* Experience in leading cybersecurity incidents, implementing response procedures, and driving continuous improvements to strengthen security protocol
Desirable Criteria
* A certification such as CISSP CISM, GIAC, or equivalent
* Team leader or direct line management experience in high performing or technical teams
