Job Title: Care Assistant Location: Childrey, Wantage (OX12), OX12 9RG Reports to: Senior Care Assistant / Registered Manager Salary: Up to £13 per hour Hours: Agency Work Job Summary: As a Care and Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting residents with daily living tasks and ensuring they receive high-quality, person-centred care in a safe, clean, and comfortable environment. You will assist with personal care, promote independence, and build positive relationships with residents, families, and the wider care team. Key Responsibilities: Support residents with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, toileting, and grooming in a dignified and respectful manner. Assist with mobility and transfers, including use of hoists and mobility aids where required. Provide companionship, emotional support, and encourage social interaction and participation in activities. Support residents at mealtimes including preparing, serving, and feeding if necessary. Monitor and record the physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing of residents, reporting any changes to senior staff. Administer or assist with medication as per care plan and training (if trained and required). Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic living environment in line with infection prevention and control measures. Assist with laundry, cleaning duties, and ensuring residents rooms are well-maintained and personalised. Work closely with other staff and professionals to deliver high-quality care and meet residents' individual needs. Respect and promote residents choices, privacy, dignity, and independence. Maintain accurate documentation and complete care records in line with company policies and procedures. Requirements: Previous experience in a care or support role. NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards it. Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one). MAPA/PMVA Trainings. Desirable: Experience supporting individuals with dementia, physical disabilities, or sensory impairments. Medication administration training (e.g., MAR/EMAR systems). Manual handling and First Aid training.
