Assistant Director of Finance (Charity/Belfast)
VANRATH is delighted to be working in partnership with a leading Charity to recruit an Assistant Director of Finance (Financial Planning & Performance) to take on a key role within the organisation and sit as part of the Leadership Team.
Reporting to the Group Finance Director, the key purpose of the role is to lead the finance team in playing a key role in driving the Financial Performance of the Group by working closely with the Business, providing Key Financial Information & Insights, and offering Commercial Finance Leadership, Support & Challenge.

About you:
* Qualified Accountant
* Minimum 2 years post-qualified experience
* Experience in leading, developing, and supporting high-performing teams
* Proficiency in producing, analyzing, and presenting financial information to improve financial performance
* Experience in budget preparation, consolidation, monitoring, and financial forecasting
* Ability to work with diverse stakeholders to deliver results
* Strong ICT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel for financial modelling & analysis
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide leadership to the Finance Team, build a high-performing team, and promote a culture of collaboration and excellence
* Manage, develop, motivate, and support the Financial Planning & Performance team
* Offer Commercial Finance Leadership, Support & Challenge across the organisation
* Contribute to the development of Strategic Financials for the Group in collaboration with the Group Finance Director
* Monitor Financial Performance against targets, identifying risks & opportunities and implementing action plans
* Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure financials are aligned with business goals
* Oversee Budget and Forecasting initiatives, setting realistic growth targets
* Manage Cashflow through accurate forecasting
* Support investment decisions and business cases, including pricing and retention strategies
* Lead the production of Financial MI, KPIs, and insights to monitor financial health
* Support external reporting and audits with necessary analysis
* Identify opportunities to optimise Finance systems and processes
* Implement process improvements for efficiency and effectiveness
* Assist the Finance Director as needed
