We are delighted to be recruiting for an HR Advisor to join us at the Head Office, based in Measham. You’ll be working for one of the largest privately‑owned housebuilding groups in the UK and you will be a part of a family‑owned business where we value you, your contribution, and your ideas.
The HR Advisor’s role is to deliver a proactive and flexible HR service by providing relevant and appropriate HR support to internal customers, whilst driving best practice and ensuring compliance with company policies and employment legislation. You’ll have a direct hand in providing interpersonal support to line managers and handling general employee relations issues.
Main Duties
* Providing the necessary support to line managers on general non‑complex employee relations issues.
* Facilitating and supporting employee grievances, and performance management processes across the business.
* Supporting the annual HR events such as appraisals, pay review, succession planning, and management development.
* Promoting HR initiatives across the company.
* Conducting exit interviews with departing staff and reporting on trends accordingly.
* Supporting the recruitment and selection process, where required.
* Supporting the company trainee and apprenticeship schemes through promotion of the schemes, recruitment and selection of candidates, reporting on progression and succession, and managing rewards, awards and graduations.
* Complying with and upholding company policies and procedures.
* Attending meetings that may be necessary in the performance of your duties.
* Assisting with project work as determined by the HR Director.
* Undertaking any additional tasks as may reasonably be required from time to time.
* Ensuring all health and safety aspects associated with Covid‑19.
* Managing the employee car benefit scheme.
* Handling occupational health referrals.
Essential Skills / Attributes
* Full UK driving licence.
* Previous experience as an HR Officer or HR Advisor.
* Strong correspondence and communication skills with employees.
* Good level of education, including English & maths or equivalent.
* Understanding of the need for confidentiality and the importance of GDPR.
* Ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
* Ability to multi‑task and work well under pressure.
* Working knowledge of current employment legislation.
