This is an exciting opportunity for a conscientious, enthusiastic, highly motivated, and organised individual to join the Urology department. Urology is a busy and innovative specialty that treats problems of the urinary system and the genitourinary tract.
This is a permanent Receptionist/Administrator position based within our Norfolk Physiology Unit, working alongside our Continence Specialist Nursing Team within the Urology Department and our friendly, experienced, and highly motivated administrative Norfolk Physiology team.
The reception aspect is an essential part of the clerical and admin support for the department. Responsibilities include meeting and greeting patients, answering telephone enquiries, creating, amending, and managing appointments. The successful candidate will support the continence service by utilising the PTL (Patient Tracking List) to ensure timely booking of patients and escalate any shortfalls in availability. The role involves a wide range of administrative duties using Trust systems to record and maintain patient records, requiring good IT skills and a willingness to learn multiple Trust IT systems.
You should have a methodical approach, be well-organised, and demonstrate a flexible attitude aligned with our Trust PRIDE values. Good communication skills are essential, as the role requires working well both independently and as part of a team.
You will support the Urology Continence Service, coordinate outpatient bookings, and provide reception cover in the Norfolk Physiology Unit when needed. You will be the first point of contact for appointment bookings and liaise with clinicians as appropriate. Accurate and timely input of patient information onto the Patient Administration System (PAS) is vital, observing the rules of real-time data entry.
All activities should be carried out in accordance with Trust Policies and Procedures on data collection and confidentiality. Maintaining confidentiality is of utmost importance.
