Assistant Manager Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Assistant Manager with strong leadership & communication abilities to guide their team towards achieving sales & KPI targets whilst providing unparalleled service.
Responsibilities:
* Supporting the Store Manager in effectively running all store operations to meet or exceed sales & KPI targets. Setting clear sales goals, tracking performance, and evolving processes to ensure continuous store growth.
* Creating a positive team culture through recruiting, training, and developing staff. Building a motivated, high-performing team to increase store success.
* Analyzing sales data and financial reports to make quick, informed decisions alongside the Store Manager, identifying opportunities operationally & commercially.
* Acting as the point of contact for colleagues in the manager’s absence.
* Providing excellent customer service, addressing inquiries, and resolving complaints professionally.
* Managing day-to-day operations, including opening and closing procedures.
* Supporting cash management tasks, such as processing transactions and reconciling tills.
* Participating in hiring, onboarding, and training new employees.
* Providing feedback and coaching to colleagues to improve performance.
* Supporting the Store Manager in maintaining colleague schedules for proper coverage and productivity.
Role Objectives and KPIs:
* Contribute to achieving or exceeding the store's monthly sales target.
* Drive all additional KPIs, including Units, Conversion, ATV, UPT.
* Achieve upselling or cross-selling targets.
* Maintain a high Net Promoter Score.
* Ensure stock accuracy during store audits.
* Ensure all new colleagues complete mandatory training.
* Ensure employee satisfaction scores or engagement survey results meet or exceed company benchmarks.
* Assist in keeping operational costs within the budget.
Skills and Experience:
* Previous supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced retail/customer-facing environment.
* Passionate about retail with a good understanding of latest trends and competitors.
* Experience in coaching and developing individuals.
* Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
* Experience analyzing KPI data for commercial decision-making.
* Keen eye for detail and commerciality; experience in visual merchandising is advantageous.
