Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our boh team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and be eager to support our kitchen operations in a fast-paced restaurant environment. This role is essential in ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of our meal preparation and catering services.
Duties
* Assist in the preparation of ingredients for meals, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items.
* Support chefs and cooks in the kitchen by providing help with various cooking tasks as needed.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all food safety standards are adhered to.
* Assist with the plating and presentation of dishes before they are served.
* Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to the kitchen manager.
* Participate in catering events, assisting with food setup, service, and cleanup as required.
* Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling and preparation.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a restaurant or catering environment is preferred but not essential.
* Basic knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques is an advantage.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy kitchen setting.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic work environment.
* Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork.
