We are a fast-growing GP Practice (rated Outstanding by CQC) and are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly individual to join our administration team.
The successful candidate will need excellent communication skills, be highly organised, have a positive attitude and be able to work autonomously.
Main duties of the job
To manage the flow of non‑NHS requests from patients and third parties ensuring efficient use of practice resources. Typically, these may include insurance and medical reports, subject access requests, DVLA and TFL reports and examinations, fitness certificates and letters. This will require careful management of expectations from the outset, strict observation of GDPR, judicious use of clinical resource, organisation of multiple workflows and diligent record keeping. Training will be provided but the individual is expected to be able to work autonomously.
Job responsibilities
* Collecting requests from multiple sources: email, paper, online forms and iGPR. This will require a systematic approach and careful record keeping, staying on top of multiple requests.
* Assessing the feasibility of requests and reviewing patient records where necessary.
* Contacting the patient or third party to agree limitations of service, timeline and costs.
* Careful record keeping, monitoring progress and ensuring an audit trail of work.
* Downloading patient records for subject access requests and reviewing for GDPR and sensitivity of patient data.
* Booking work into clinician sessions as appropriate using EMIS and supporting clinicians where necessary, such as providing hard copy notes.
* Staying on top of work, chasing when necessary.
* Uploading documentation to patient records in EMIS.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
£11.52 an hour. This will increase to £13.15 after 12 months.
