Job Description
A Senior Care Assistant is essential within our care home, providing vital support to the nursing team with clinical duties. They ensure residents receive high‑quality care by assisting with medical tasks such as administering medication, monitoring vital signs, and updating digital care plans. Their role bridges the gap between nursing staff and residents, ensuring seamless and efficient care delivery. With an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, Senior Care Assistants bring expertise and professionalism, enhancing the overall care environment.
Your responsibilities
* Day‑to‑day responsibility for running a unit
* Support with clinical duties, including observing the nurse to issue medication, review care plans and accurate record keeping
* Drive and manage a team of Care Assistants, including responsibility for all shift handovers of the teams
* Help with training and supervision of new staff members so they feel welcomed and supported
* Build relationships with residents, their families and external teams such as GPs and District Nurses
* Assist residents with a range of personal care duties
