An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Bid Writer to join a leading design and build contractor in London. This role offers the chance to work within a creative, fast paced environment where attention to detail, collaboration, and high quality output are key.
As a Bid Writer, you’ll be responsible for managing and delivering high quality, engaging written submissions for tenders and proposals, ensuring all documentation is accurate, visually appealing, and fully compliant with client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the full bid process from initial opportunity identification through to submission and feedback.
* Write, edit, and proofread clear, persuasive content for PQQs, EOIs, and tender submissions.
* Collaborate with internal teams (Design, Operations, and Commercial) to gather project and technical information.
* Develop and maintain a central bid library of standard responses, case studies, and supporting materials.
* Ensure all submissions align with brand, tone, and visual presentation standards.
* Research and analyse client requirements, feedback, and scoring criteria to continuously improve submission quality.
* Support in creating client-facing collateral including capability statements, proposal documents, and brochures.
* Contribute to marketing materials and digital content such as website copy and social media posts.
* Maintain up-to-date information on procurement and bid portals.
* Work to tight deadlines and deliver consistently high-quality submissions.
Skills & Experience:
* Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a bid writing, bid coordination, or graphic design role, ideally within the construction or design and build sector.
* Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple bids at once.
* Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Creative Suite.
* Experience with bid and procurement platforms such as Contracts Advance or Find a Tender.
* Creative and visually minded, with an understanding of effective document design.
* Commercially aware, proactive, and collaborative.
* Degree-level education in English, Communications, Marketing, or a related discipline preferred.
* Flexible and willing to work extended hours when needed to meet submission deadlines.
