Role:
Our client, a leading defence company, is seeking a Quality Engineer to support their Non Conformance team, assisting Manufacturing functions in the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
1. Managing non-conformance processes, including administration of non-conformities and containment activities.
2. Analyzing non-conformance data using business tools like Google NLP to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement, including implementing and verifying corrective actions.
3. Preparing and communicating KPI reports across all levels of the organization.
4. Data analysis related to CQN (Rework/Scrap), returns, and yields.
5. Facilitating practical problem-solving activities, determining root causes, and implementing robust corrective actions using relevant quality tools.
6. Supporting the transfer of new products into manufacturing by analyzing historical data and lessons learned.
7. Facilitating non-conformance meetings at various levels, from Shop Floor to Manufacturing Heads, and escalating issues as needed.
8. Managing customer concerns and escapes, liaising with inter-company facilities across Europe and external customers.
9. Handling inscapes between manufacturing business units.
10. Collaborating with Program Quality representatives and wider Quality teams to share data and progress non-conformities and improvements.
Qualifications and skills:
* Ideally qualified to minimum HNC/HND in a relevant subject or with equivalent work experience.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to identify trends and drive improvements.
* Confident in reporting to all levels of the business.
* Excellent practical problem-solving skills, capable of leading and facilitating improvement activities.
* Good planning and organizational skills to prioritize and monitor multiple tasks.
* Highly self-motivated with determination and persistence to achieve results despite obstacles.
