Location: Worcester, UK.

Type: Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:00.

Welcome to Motel. Our story began during a road trip in the 1990s, where our founders travelled across America collecting vintage items while living out of motels. We started purchasing vintage clothing in the USA and selling it wholesale, which eventually led to the creation of stores. From there, we began designing reworked vintage pieces, and Motel was born. Over 30 years and a team of 200+ people later, every piece of clothing we make is created with the same spirit of fun, freedom and adventure as the road trip that first defined the brand. We’re a global team with an operational base in Worcester, a design studio in London and a creative studio in Bali.

Role summary: The Purchase Ledger Clerk will support the Finance team with Accounts Payable, manage supplier ledgers, handle enquiries, and perform related tasks in a timely and efficient manner.


The role

The Purchase Ledger Clerk will play a critical part in supporting the Finance team with Accounts Payable, dealing with enquiries and tasks in a timely and efficient manner. The successful candidate will support the team in maintaining and managing the supplier ledger, including setting up supplier accounts through to payments and reconciliations.


Main Tasks & Responsibilities

* Support the Finance team with Accounts Payable, handling enquiries and tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
* Maintain and manage the supplier ledger, including:
o Setting up supplier accounts through to payments and reconciliations.
o Checking and managing all supplier invoices.
o Preparing regular payment lists for submission and obtaining approval for payments.
o Recording and filing cash transactions.
o Assisting with month-end processes where appropriate.
* Maintain existing account details.
* Reconcile supplier statements.
* Reconcile between multiple systems, including production, stock and financial.
* Act as a critical point of contact for related enquiries.
* Maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
* This list is not exhaustive and other duties may be required according to the needs of the business.


About You

* Solid understanding of financial systems and processes.
* Strong analytical skills to evaluate financial data and make recommendations.
* Good IT skills and ability to work with multiple systems.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Good written and oral communication skills.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Positive attitude towards problem solving.
* Previous experience in Accounts is highly desirable.
