We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Business Engagement Officer (Space) to join the team in Business Durham, to support the delivery of the UK Space Agency funded Space North East England cluster. This vacancy is temporary until 31 March 2030. WHAT IS INVOLVED? You will be part of a team working at the forefront of developing the North East’s growing space sector, supporting both established space companies and businesses looking to enter the market. You will have the opportunity to work in a fast-growing, high-value sector with national and international relevance. In doing so, you will work closely with industry, universities, and organisations such as the UK Space Agency and Satellite Applications Catapult. In this role, you will focus on building strong relationships, supporting innovation, and driving business growth, with a particular emphasis on supporting SMEs and helping companies diversify into the space sector. You will also contribute to high-profile regional and national projects and initiatives, helping to strengthen the North East’s position as a leader in the space industry. A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant business discipline, and/or be able to demonstrate relevant experience. Experience of engaging with businesses, particularly micro and small businesses, and delivering business support or business development services Experience of engaging, developing and managing business relationships.
