Registered Psychiatric Nurse – Mental Health & Wellbeing Services (Relocation to Melbourne, Australia)


Department: Mental Health & Wellbeing Services

Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time, Ongoing

Locations: Multiple metropolitan Melbourne hospital sites

Salary:

AUD $68,541.20 – $96,808.40 per annum + superannuation + salary packaging

Approx. £34,300 – £48,400 per annum

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity for Registered Psychiatric Nurses to relocate to Melbourne, Australia and join a progressive Mental Health & Wellbeing Service delivering compassionate, recovery-focused care across inpatient and community settings.

This role offers exposure to a wide range of mental health services, strong professional support, and clear development pathways. Employer sponsorship is available for internationally qualified nurses seeking to move to Australia.


Available Opportunities

Acute Inpatient Mental Health Unit

A specialist adult acute inpatient service providing trauma-informed, recovery-oriented and individually tailored care for individuals experiencing severe mental ill health.

* Permanent full-time and part-time roles available

* Join a highly specialised, supportive clinical team with a strong focus on individual-centred mental health care


Mental Health Nurse Pool (Inpatient Services)

Permanent roles offering flexibility and variety across multiple inpatient units, including:

* Adult Acute Units
* Older Adult Inpatient Unit
* Community Care Unit
* Rehabilitation Unit
* Specialist inpatient mental health services

Pool roles provide job security alongside diverse clinical exposure, helping nurses build broad experience while maintaining work-life balance.


Key Responsibilities

* Deliver safe, high-quality, recovery-focused mental health nursing care
* Build therapeutic relationships with individuals and their support networks
* Conduct assessments and implement evidence-based interventions
* Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
* Uphold legislation, policies and best practice standards
* Contribute to service improvement and clinical excellence


About You

* Registration as a Registered Nurse with a postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing
* Minimum 24 months experience in a mental health clinical setting (inpatient and/or community)
* Strong understanding of trauma-informed and recovery-oriented care
* Sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2022
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work rotating rosters including nights
* Willingness to work across multiple hospital sites
* Commitment to professional development and reflective practice
