Junior Product Writer – 12 Month Fixed Term Contract Location: Hybrid to Manchester or Whitstable Role Overview We are looking for a Junior Product Writer who will design, develop and maintain motor, commercial, pet and household insurance products within the Landscape Product Admin, Radar MHR and bespoke coding systems by converting specifications into rating logic. You will conduct unit testing to ensure the above are delivered to a high standard and within agreed delivery timelines. Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and enhance rating engine products within Landscape Product Admin and Radar, delivering accurate solutions to agreed timescales. Analyse business and product requirements, providing technical feasibility input and converting specifications into Rating Engine programs. Perform BAU activities including bug fixes, rate updates, system enhancements, and robust testing using defined test plans and harnesses. Ensure regulatory compliance (FCA, TCF, MID, Data Protection) and maintain comprehensive product documentation and change records. Manage stakeholder relationships across Underwriting, brokers, software houses, system providers, and industry partners, effectively communicating progress and managing expectations. Maintain industry, technical, and market knowledge while contributing to wider team and departmental objectives. Essential Skills & Experience Strong programming and problem‑solving ability Strong knowledge of software house and broker systems Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Advanced Microsoft Excel; good Microsoft Word skills Good business analysis and negotiation skills Highly organised, able to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects Relevant Experience & Knowledge Understanding of programming and logic principles, with willingness to learn best practices Knowledge of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, debugging, and testing Experience managing external client relationships Desirable: experience with software house systems, EDI message structures, and insurance environments
