The Role As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial management of major civils and infrastructure projects across the Southam region. Working closely with experienced Senior QSs and Commercial Managers, youll gain hands-on exposure to every stage of the project lifecycle from tender to final account while developing your technical and contractual skills within a structured, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities Assist in managing the commercial and financial performance of highways, groundworks, and earthworks projects
Support in cost planning, tender analysis, and subcontractor procurement
Help prepare valuations, cost reports, and monthly forecasts
Contribute to the management of subcontractor accounts and variations
Ensure accurate measurement and valuation of works
Work closely with project managers to achieve cost, value, and programme targets
Assist in risk management, value engineering, and commercial reporting
Gain proficiency in NEC contract administration and project controls
About You Degree-qualified (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
Previous experience with a main contractor or civil engineering subcontractor preferred
Ideally some exposure to earthworks, highways, or infrastructure projects
Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
Effective communicator with good organisational and teamwork skills
Proactive, ambitious, and eager to develop quickly within a market-leading contractor
Keen interest in civil engineering and commercial project management
