Great opportunity for a Health & Safety Manager to join the Life Science Team in Macclesfield.
The Health & Safety Manager will manage the implementation of a professional, competent, and knowledge-sharing culture across all sites, ensuring that best-in-class health, safety, and environment practices are planned, implemented, and shared effectively.

Responsibilities
1. Demonstrate strong leadership skills.
2. Assist the HSE Manager in the consistent rollout of company strategy and expectations within SOPs, guidance, etc.
3. Carry out high-quality safety inspections of workplaces at a frequency and intrusiveness as coached by the HSE Manager. Perform risk reviews in the absence of the HSE Manager and contribute to risk reviews.
4. Attend sites following accidents/incidents and assist with investigations. In the absence of the Project Director, lead the investigation.
5. Liaise with enforcement authorities during routine visits or incident investigations.
6. Understand bespoke client requirements and tailor the management system accordingly with line manager approval.
7. Assist the HSE Manager with tender and pre-qualification submissions, advising on health and safety concerns and providing practical solutions.
8. Attend start-up meetings with site teams and other meetings with clients and supply chain as requested.
9. Implement the management system and coach others to use it appropriately.
10. Deliver appropriate training.
Experience
1. CMIOSH, Grad IOSH.
2. At least 10 years (preferably 5+ years) in the construction industry.
3. At least 10 years as a health and safety professional.
4. Inquisitive about root cause outcomes.
5. Lead on improvement initiatives.
6. Effective and confident training provider.
7. Experience managing and developing trainees.
Qualifications
1. NEBSOH Construction Certificate or equivalent.
2. NEBOSH Construction Diploma or equivalent.
3. NVQ Level 4 / EFQ Level 5 in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent. SHE Technical Apprenticeship Programme.
4. Awareness of lifting operations.
