Our Building Automation team focuses on advancing energy efficiency, sustainability, and cost‑effective building operation, with a track record of innovative eco‑friendly mechanical and electrical solutions.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Building Management System (BMS) design engineer proficient with Process Logic Controllers (PLC) and Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, or with Direct Digital Controllers (DDC) and BMS supervisory systems. Experience in the data centre sector and understanding of Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) is preferred.
You must have excellent knowledge of mechanical plant control and electrical equipment monitoring. In this role you will collaborate closely with clients and multidisciplinary design teams (architects, civil, electrical, IT, mechanical, public health, structural engineers, etc.) to create innovative designs, review and comment on submittals, witness software and factory bench tests, and oversee installation.
You will also work in the global Building Automation team (currently 20 members) to advise on and develop technical standards, detailed specifications, and appropriate control strategies. Some projects are outside the UK, with potential six‑month on‑site trips.
Essential Skills
* Experience with BMS, DDC, Supervisory platforms, or PLC and SCADA.
* Expert understanding of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning processes for optimal air quality, temperature, humidity and pressure.
* Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills to diagnose issues quickly and implement efficient solutions.
* Excellent communication skills for clear documentation and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
* Demonstrable track record in building automation (ideally) and enthusiasm to learn and develop existing skills.
