Based: Birmingham office; flexible working between the office, site and some home working. Sites will be throughout the Midlands. Typical working hours: 08:30 – 17:00, Monday – Friday.

Within our Social Housing Planned works programs, you will work both from home/office and on site, collaborating with your team in an inclusive and fair environment. Work streams will include both internal and external programmes, such as Passive Fire protection and Painting works in the first instance.
You will be commercially focused to ensure we obtain and evaluate information to guarantee a realistic cost for the supply of works, goods, materials, and services for designated Repairs and Refurbishment Projects. You will liaise with Contractors, Suppliers and Clients to ensure information, costs, profitability and value meet the requirements of designated projects/contracts.
Responsibilities
* Monthly CVR preparation
* Prepare and monitor cash flow forecast for designated projects
* Ensure all invoices submitted accurately and for certified value to ensure payments are received on time
* Support your team to value and authorise payments to sub-contractors within the region
* Liaise with Contract Managers to establish the project specification and requirements
* Attend and contribute to meetings with colleagues and Clients/Customers, building relationships and demonstrating excellent communication skills
* Assist in the preparation, processing and selection of estimates, bids, and tenders to demanding timescales
* Support the team with monitoring the contract progress, assess and report any changes that may affect project costs and timescales
* Assist in the control of contract budgets
* Assist in the development of the procurement programme

About You
You will have experience of working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry and refurbishments. Knowledge of the Social Housing planned works sector is advantageous. Ideally you will have a couple of years of experience managing your own workload/contracts, knowledge of the CVR process and schedules of rates, strong commercial acumen, excellent attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills. You will be proficient with IT and MS Office. You must hold a Full UK Driving Licence as travel is a must for this role.
