I am a 28-year-old male living in the Newark area. I am a full-time wheelchair user with physical and mild learning disabilities. I am also epileptic. I have a complex medical history but live my life to the full. I love sport and am a Manchester united fan. I love watching and playing sport. I play wheelchair basketball in a league and wheelchair tennis for fun. I enjoy shopping and food sometimes too much! I like to go to the cinema and spending time at home relaxing. I would like to say that I am a happy person and quite sociable with people I know. My family and my dog are very important to me, and I enjoy spending time with them. I like to go out and about, so it is essential that the successful candidate has a full UK driving license and a car that can fit a manual wheelchair in it. The successful candidate will be required to assist me with: Personal care Health tasks Getting up and going to bed My mum cooks but if she is away, I would need someone to prepare food for me Laundry and cleaning If my parents are not available, I may need help attending appointments The successful candidate will have the following qualities: Patient Kind Good sense of humour. Able to motivate me if I am feeling a bit down Be personable and able to respect confidentiality and dignity Be professional and have integrity It is essential that applicants: Do not smoke or vape on shift Are flexible and able to cover extra shifts if needed (including weekends and bank holidays) Have a clear DBS Attend and complete all training in a timely manner Are happy to be around dogs Have the Right to Work in the UK Hours available per week: Up to 40 hours (flexible) full time and part time equally considered Possible shift patterns: Monday 9am-5pm 8hrs Tuesday 9am-5pm. 8 hrs Overnight Tues 8pm- 8am Wed 12 hrs Hourly Rate: £14.25 (The position is subject to an enhanced DBS check and is exempt from the provision of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.)
